OPEN CALL for artists to participate in the decolonial art project “Reclaiming History”

The project is aimed at critically rethinking the museum narratives of Kryvyi Rih, in particular the exhibitions of the Kryvyi Rih Local History Museum.

Its goal is to identify and transform colonial, imperial, and Soviet interpretations of local history that continue to shape the perception of Ukrainian cultural heritage, especially in frontline regions.

April 26 is a day that forever changed not only Ukraine, but the entire world.

On this day, we remember the Chernobyl disaster — a tragedy that became a symbol of the fragility of human control over technology, and at the same time an example of extraordinary courage.

The Kryvyi Rih Cultural Centre / KRCC joins in commemorating this date and reminds us: memory is not only about remembrance, but also about responsibility for the future.

Warmest wishes to you on the bright holiday of Easter!

The founder of the Kryvyi Rih Cultural Centre / KRCC, Kateryna Levchenko, will join the discussion “Culture Beyond the Capital: New Centers of Influence”.

Today, culture is not only about Kyiv and Lviv. How is cultural life developing in the regions? What new practices are emerging in local contexts? Who are the cultural protagonists of their cities and communities?

During the discussion, we will talk about what makes Lutsk, Poltava, Cherkasy, Drohobych, and Kryvyi Rih worth visiting, how local initiatives are reshaping perceptions of the regions, and how they are contributing to a new cultural map of Ukraine.

Why March 8 is not about a “Holiday of Spring,” but about struggle?

The usual greetings about tenderness, beauty, and femininity on March 8 sound strange once you remember how it all began.

In 1857, textile workers in New York went on strike demanding fair working conditions. In 1908, more than 15,000 women marched through New York for equal pay and the right to vote. In 1910, Clara Zetkin proposed the establishment of International Women’s Day as a day of struggle for women’s rights. Within a few years, this day became a symbol of protest in many countries.

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine

But for Ukrainians, this war began back in 2014. For three years now, our country has been standing in the fight for freedom, independence, and the future.

We remember. We support. We do not remain silent.

The world must not get used to war. We must keep reminding people about Ukraine’s struggle, help those on the front lines and in the rear, support families who have lost their homes, and continue speaking out about the crimes of the aggressor.
