    The Kryvyi Rih Cultural Centre / KRCC announces an open call for participation in the Kryvyi Rih: Cultural Heritage residency for urbanists and anyone passionate about the future of Kryvyi Rih!

"Kryvyi Rih: Cultural Heritage" aims to promote the preservation and renewal of Kryvyi Rih’s cultural and industrial heritage. The project focuses on fostering cross-sectoral collaboration between architects, urbanists, artists, historians, and civil society representatives from Kryvyi Rih and other Ukrainian cities to develop scenarios for urban restoration, industrial heritage revitalization, and the preservation of cultural assets that reflect the city’s unique identity.
What to Expect During the Residency?
An urban workshop in Kryvyi Rih utilizing participatory practices to preserve the city’s cultural heritage and revitalize its industrial sites. Experts from various fields are invited to collaboratively develop a vision for revitalizing industrial facilities, showcasing the city’s cultural legacy and creating platforms for further cultural development.
The workshop employs co-creation and city exploration practices, enabling participants to devise tools they can use to shape the city’s future to meet the desires and needs of its residents. The workshop will culminate in a presentation aimed at engaging the community in further discussions and the development of ideas for future implementation.

A series of thematic lectures focusing on decolonization and new cultural narratives:
● Rethinking history and forming new cultural narratives● Revitalization of urban and cultural spaces● Key industrial and cultural heritage sites in Kryvyi Rih and their impact on contemporary contexts● Approaches to successful urban revitalization● A moderated discussion on post-war city rebuilding

The "Kryvyi Rih: Cultural Heritage" project is implemented by the NGO Institute for the Development of Kryvyi Rih and co-funded by the ZMINA: Rebuilding program. The program is supported by the European Union as part of a special call for proposals to assist Ukrainian IDPs and the cultural and creative sectors of Ukraine. Additional support comes from the International Charitable Foundation IZOLYATSIA, Trans Europe Halles, and Malý Berlín.
