The Kryvyi Rih Cultural Centre / KRCC, in partnership with PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, invites you to Olha Honchar (Khvostova)'s lecture "Kryvyi Rih-Style Surzhyk: from Zarika to Horod and Okontsovka-Margantsovka" as part of the Language Exercises exhibition!
This lecture is dedicated to the unique features of Kryvyi Rih surzhyk. Olga will discuss its historical and social roots, distinctive characteristics, and usage in everyday life. We’ll also explore regional language differences and the cultural significance of surzhyk for Kryvyi Rih residents.

Olha Honchar (Khvostova) is a journalist, local historian, and editor-in-chief of Expert-KR. She holds a degree in philology from Oles Honchar Dnipro National University.
