How does art begin? With repetition. Just as artists once redrew vases and apples, musicians played Bach, and writers imitated their favorite authors — to learn to see, to hear, and to feel.
From this very idea grows the Creative Writing Workshop for children (13+) and adults, held as part of the KryvBaz Literary Festival.
The workshop will be led by Roman Khomenko — English teacher, philologist, and book enthusiast, curator of KRCC’s book club Literatusa. Roman will help participants discover their inner writer, find joy in the process of writing, and overcome the fear of a blank page.
Participants will be able to:– experiment with different literary genres;– discover creativity as a skill that can be trained;– learn how personal style is born and where to find inspiration;– complete a few simple exercises to develop imagination, observation, and a sense of language.
“Anyone can write. Genre is just a costume you can change until you find your own. Creativity is discipline plus the courage to be yourself,” — says Roman.
This event is designed for everyone who loves words, reads before bed, keeps a journal, or has long dreamed of starting to write. No experience is needed — just curiosity and an open heart.
The festival is organized by the Kryvyi Rih Cultural Centre / KRCC.
The project is implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Book Institute and funded by the State Budget of Ukraine.
