Where:
Kvitka Café (10 Sicheslavska St., Kryvyi Rih)

The discussion “Museum and Memory as Tools for Local Dialogue” explores the role of museums and memory in fostering local conversations, shaping shared histories, and strengthening cultural identity. This conversation is vital for understanding how institutions and cultural practices can contribute to constructive dialogue and help communities confront and heal historical trauma. Museums not only preserve memory, but also become spaces where essential questions about the past and future can be discussed from the perspectives of different social groups.
In an informal setting, we will explore how museum spaces can serve as tools for creating new forms of local identity—particularly in post-conflict or multicultural contexts. How can they foster mutual understanding, collaboration, and reconciliation? In what ways can the memory preserved within museums help raise generations capable of constructive dialogue and working toward shared goals?
Participants: Alevtyna Kakhidze, Alina Yakubenko, Dana Brezhnieva, Marta Bilas, Natalka Dyachenko, Zhanna Kadyrova, Leonid Marushchak, Serhii Lukovenko, Dasha Podoltseva.
Join us to discover the potential of museums as platforms for open, meaningful conversations that shape our shared future.
This project is supported by the Vidnova Support Fund and carried out in collaboration with the NGO Museum for Change (Muzei Vidkryto na Remont).
