As part of the KryvBaz Literary Festival, which will take place on October 31 – November 2 at the Palace of Culture “Metalurhiv”, we announce two special formats open to everyone who wishes to participate!
Readings: Voices of IDPs
“Voices of IDPs” is a poetry reading that gives space to people who were forced to leave their homes because of the war.We invite internally displaced persons to present their poetry, prose, or texts that reflect experiences of displacement, memory, loss, hope, and recovery.
The event will take place in an open mic format. Anyone interested can perform for 5–7 minutes and share their creativity — whether for the first time or among like-minded people. It is a space for sincere expression, where words become a way of returning to oneself and to the community.
“Voices of IDPs” is an opportunity to hear living poetry of today, created by people whose stories shape the face of the new Ukraine.
Competition: Voices of the New Generation
“Voices of the New Generation” is an event dedicated to contemporary Ukrainian poetry.We open a competition for poets and authors who write in Ukrainian and wish to present their work on the main stage of the festival.
Participants will be able to perform live, share their texts with the audience, and experience the atmosphere of a professional literary environment.
Their poetry will be evaluated by an independent jury that will provide feedback, guidance for further development, and recommendations for future publications, residencies, and festivals.
This is a unique opportunity to make your voice heard, receive support from experienced authors, and become part of the new generation of Ukrainian poetry.

Selected participants will be invited to take part in the KryvBaz Literary Festival, which will take place from October 31 to November 2, 2025, at the Palace of Culture “Metalurhiv” in Kryvyi Rih.
